I know that my body is far from being great
I have stretch marks since I was a kid. Never knew how it was not to have them. Never felt bad about having them as a kid, but after a period of time, because of the sudden changes in my body, they seemed not to disappear, it even started to multiply/expand in different areas of my body! So my feelings towards them were not very nice, started to feel ashamed and uncomfortable knowing at the time that only pregnant ladies have them. My mom told me that will never disappear, and I should just get over it, but this just made me angrier.
Trying to get rid of stretch marks
So I started a ritual of exfoliating and nourishing the body with baby oil at the time, that was just making them fade for a while. And after a while I got a few tips that almost worked. I started testing a lot of moisturizing creams, and after a while I knew that the ones with retinol and glicolic acid were better, because the elasticity of the skin improved. But after some time, I got bored of that and stopped using the cream. The story of my life..
A friend told me about vitamin E, and I, excitedly rushed and got some and mixed it with a simple cream. It was pretty good, but only after a month of using it, I saw a difference. The redness faded but the signs weren’t smaller.
At this time I used a lot of body creams and nearly hate them all, starting from the horrible smell and texture and ending with the crust skin feeling after using it. But, there are a couple that are almost good.
2 of my favorite body lotions
Elancyl stretching marks corrector is a good skin lotion. The texture is like a gel and the smell is a bit too strong for my taste. From the label you think you will get baby skin, but it’s not really true, maybe you’ll have a softer skin and a almost have of your stretching marks reduced after a while, but not all of them.
I also used Eucerin stretching oil, and the it was the oil texture that was a plus for me. After every shower I used to massage it well in my skin and got quickly dressed, not feeling it at all. The stretch marks faded a bit and the skin felt very elastic. I really recommend it, even if on the bottle it says that is for pregnant ladies.
