Everyone is on a quest for life improvement and having a more balanced life where family, work and play intertwine harmoniously is for sure a goal to achieve in this quest. As a person passionate about self-development, personal wealth, mindfulness, happiness and many more, who is trying constantly to improve herself and help others, I found two interesting articles that will provide some helpful tips and tricks in reaching balance in your life.
The first article, A balanced life is written by Brian Tracy, a well-known motivational speaker and author, on his personal blog. The blog post contains insightful tips to help you getting started. And the first thing to do, says Brian, is to get to know you better, to find out what is important to you and set your priorities. The key to success, in his opinion, is “to devote your time to only two areas during the period of time when your family needs you” and when you are at work give the best you have.

Leo Babauta in 5 Essential Zen Habits for Balanced Living tells you exactly which are the most important habits you need to develop so you can reach balance. From awareness and mindfulness to creativity and simplicity these are the simple ways which can make your life balanced and rewarding. But you must invest time and effort.
Based on the insights in these two articles and what I have learned in my quest for personal development here are 3 steps you should consider in your search for balance in your life:
- Define what balance means to you – Take time to get to know you and find out what is important and really works for you.
- Set goals – Make a list of what exactly you need to introduce in your daily routine so that you can achieve your goal of having a more balanced life and stick with what’s on that list.
- Be aware – Try to live in the present moment and appreciate what you have and do.
If you dedicate some time and effort into this you will get the results you expect, but you have to have some patience. Like any good thing in life, it takes time.
