Many of us women dream of getting rid of unwanted hair for good, by snapping our fingers. And now technology brings us pretty close to this dream. Although “permanent hair removal” as it is called, it is not so permanent, we do want to get rid of hair immediately.
The most common methods of removing long-term unwanted hair is laser and IPL (Intense Pulsed Light). Both are effective and work the same way, using light to heat and destroy the hair follicles.
Despite the name, laser or ipl hair removal is not very permanent as i said before. It lasts about a year and its all about how the hair follicle is reacting in the skin. Some of the hairs come back but with constant determination year after year, the laser gets all the unwanted hairs u eagerly want to forget about.
I believe the internet is full of pieces of information about this. And there are some pros arguments but also there are so many cons. I added some I think are very important so you could decide for yourself.
Here are the pros:
-It is considered to be harmless to the skin.
-Some specialists think this is the best way to remove hair without pain and red areas.
-Laser or IPL hair removal work very well on any type of hair with some amazing effects from the first session.
-All the money spent on the treatment are a bit expensive, but in a few years you’ll see the difference in your pocket or razor blades!
Here are the cons:
– The main one is the alteration of the pigments in the skin – like hyper pigmentation and skin discoloration may occur shortly after teh process. Fortunately, the effects are temporary.
-It is recommended to avoid sun exposure before and after application.
-Infections are very rare and occur due to improper care of the skin after laser treatment
-Some say that this treatment can have some disturbing effects for the skin like the appearance of melanoma.
– It is rather expensive, so if you do not have the money just stick with the waxing.
