A new year has just begun so why not start a new lifestyle, a healthy one. And flexitarian diet is here to serve you. It’s a mix between the words flexible and vegetarian and it’s a new way of life, a life towards a more energetic you, a radiant skin and fewer health risks.
Step by step, this wonder diet leads you to the world of fruits and veggies without neglecting meat, or maybe just a little. Becoming a flexitarian is about adding five food groups to your diet and not taking any away; foods like whole grains, vegetable protein (taken from beans, lentils, peas) nuts and seeds, fruits and veggies and dairy.
There’s a book The Flexitarian Diet: The Mostly Vegetarian Way to Lose Weight, Be Healthier, Prevent Disease, and Add Years to Your Life, written by dietitian Dawn Jackson Blatner where you can find out more about this diet and how you can adjust it to your needs.
All I want to say is that flexitarians weigh 15 percent less than their more carnivorous counterparts; have a lower rate of heart disease, diabetes, and cancer; and live an average of 3.6 years longer.
These lines convinced me so I started this new way of life. I wanted to find out on my own how it is and if you really lose weight and get healthier. And I have to say that I feel much better. Even my sleep improved, lost about 2 pound and have more energy the entire day. So try it yourself and tell me your opinion.
